Headway, an online therapy platform, is requiring all clients and providers to undergo biometric facial scanning for identity verification with no option to opt out except by leaving the platform. The company announced the new requirement in an April 3 email, stating that users must submit photos of government-issued IDs and clear facial images, with the company claiming the facial data is used solely for identity verification purposes.
