Microsoft Announces Type Server Protocol, Extension of Language Server Protocol

Microsoft has announced the Type Server Protocol (TSP), a JSON-RPC protocol extension built on the Language Server Protocol that enables type servers to provide Python analysis data such as type queries, import resolution, and workspace state information. The protocol uses LSP data shapes and conventions where applicable and is currently in version 0.4.1, with clients communicating with type servers over a main JSON-RPC connection that supports optional additional read-only connections for enhanced functionality.
