Dell and Kioxia have created a 2RU server capable of storing 9.8 petabytes by equipping a PowerEdge R7725xd with 40 of Kioxia's LC9 QLC SSDs, each with 245.76 TB capacity. The system includes five 400 Gbps network interfaces for rapid data transfer and is designed to support AI infrastructure and large-scale data operations with improved power efficiency and cost-effectiveness. A single rack with 20 of these servers could hold up to 196 petabytes of storage.
