Adyen has been appointed as the new payment services provider for GOV.UK Pay, replacing Stripe for non-Crown card payments and pay by bank services across approximately 1,000 public sector organizations including local authorities, armed forces, and police. The transition will modernize the UK government's online payment platform, which has processed over £9 billion through 135 million transactions since 2016, by leveraging Adyen's unified financial technology infrastructure to support faster innovation and evolving payment methods. The phased migration is expected to proceed without disruption to users or loss of functionality.
