The City of Taylor, Texas sold 87 acres of land to a data center developer for $10 million, despite a 1999 agreement with the farming family who donated it requiring the land be used as a public park. The land, which has been a gathering place for the local community for generations, will now become a 135,000 square-foot data center located just 500 feet from nearby homes.
