YouTube to automatically label AI-generated videos
YouTube is making AI-generated content labels more prominent and will now automatically tag videos with "significant photorealistic AI use" rather than relying solely on creator disclosure. Starting this week, labels for AI-generated content will appear directly below the video player for long-form videos and as overlays on Shorts, rather than buried in the description. Creators can dispute incorrect AI flagging, though labels will remain permanent for content created with YouTube's own AI tools or marked with C2PA metadata indicating full AI generation.
