Apple Keyboard has a blacklist of phrases you can't swipe
|
Apple's iPhone keyboard contains a "grey list" of over 100,000 words and phrases that its predictive text will not autocomplete or assist with swipe-typing, including drug references, sexual content, and politically sensitive terms like "Trayvon Martin," "Kashmir dispute," and "Muslim extremist." The blacklist was discovered by independent researcher Derik Kauffman, who described it as a "light-touch form of censorship" that varies by language, such as blocking "the occupied territories" in Hebrew and "the Hamas movement" in Arabic.
