Drawing tablet manufacturers like Gaomon, Huion, and XpPen are reluctant to collaborate on open-source Linux drivers because the underlying infrastructure is branded as "Wacom," a competitor, even though it supports multiple vendors. The companies fear that participating would require sharing proprietary device specifications with Wacom and that their brand identity would be overshadowed by Wacom branding in the open-source ecosystem, despite the repositories actually supporting numerous tablet manufacturers.
