Vx – One Language, Every Chip
Vx is a new systems programming language designed for heterogeneous computing that treats CPU, GPU, NPU, and accelerator memory as part of its type system, enabling compile-time detection of memory access errors rather than runtime crashes. The language requires explicit data transfers between memory spaces and validates memory placements against machine specifications defined in configuration files, eliminating entire classes of bugs common in accelerator programming. Vx compiles efficiently using a data-oriented parallel frontend that produces identical results whether built serially or in parallel.
