The Partner-N64 was a Nintendo 64 development kit created by Kyoto Microcomputer that allowed developers to debug games in real-time using a specially modified console. The kit featured breakpoints and reset functionality achieved through additional wiring (tie-lines) that routed interrupt request (IRQ) and reset signals from the cartridge slot to the N64 CPU, enabling developers to pause games and analyze system memory for bugs during gameplay. Although it offered these advanced debugging capabilities, many developers preferred the competing SN-Systems "SN64" development kits.
