Valve Sponsors Work Bringing Open-Source RADV Driver to Windows

Valve is sponsoring Collabora engineers to port the open-source RADV Vulkan driver from Linux to Microsoft Windows, marking early exploratory work on this cross-platform initiative. The main challenge involves integrating with AMD's proprietary Windows kernel driver since porting the Linux AMDGPU driver to Windows is out of scope, requiring reverse engineering of the driver's data structures. Developers have already demonstrated a working proof-of-concept by running Counter-Strike 2 with RADV on Windows.
