Unconventional AI has developed Un-0, an image generator powered by simulated coupled oscillators—a physics-based computing approach—that achieves FID 6.74 on ImageNet 64×64, matching conventional methods' initial performance benchmarks. The system demonstrates that modern AI workloads can run more efficiently on physical substrates than traditional GPU-based deep networks, potentially enabling 1,000x energy efficiency improvements.
