Total Annihilation, a classic real-time strategy game, has been rebuilt for modern computers through an open-source engine called Nanolathe with an MIT license. The engine features modern GPU rendering with improved graphics, lighting, and effects while maintaining faithful gameplay, and is available as a public beta for Windows, Mac, and Linux, with a playable browser demo. The open-source code allows players to study, modify, and build upon the engine.
