The Ambition Project

Jason Brennan's "Ambition" first-year seminar course requires students to complete four challenging assignments designed to build character and self-awareness, including projects that involve deliberately failing at something public, managing competing demands on their time, facing rejection, expressing gratitude to those who helped them succeed, and practicing saying no to unwanted requests. These experiential projects aim to teach students about ambition, resilience, priorities, and interpersonal dynamics through direct personal experience rather than theoretical learning.
