Zed, a collaborative code editor, is introducing DeltaDB, a new version control system designed to capture every code operation and conversation rather than discrete commits, enabling real-time collaboration between developers and AI agents. Unlike Git, which organizes work around snapshots at commit points, DeltaDB records fine-grained deltas and links them directly to the conversations that produced them, allowing teammates and agents to collaborate continuously without waiting for commits and pull requests.
