Slater – Low-memory graphdb designed for read-heavy graphs

Slater is a low-memory graph database designed for read-heavy workloads that can handle hundreds of millions of nodes and billions of edges while using only hundreds of MB of RAM, unlike traditional graph databases that require the entire graph to be resident in memory. The system operates over the standard Bolt protocol compatible with Neo4j drivers and supports live, durable writes alongside disk-native vector search capabilities. It can serve massive graphs like Wikidata (90 million nodes, 1.5 billion edges) that existing in-memory graph databases cannot load at all.
