Shift will clean homes for free to train future robots

AI startup Shift offers free home cleaning services in exchange for recording cleaners at work to generate training data for robots, with privacy protections like face blurring and anonymization applied to footage. The service, which launched in New York and will expand to San Francisco, London, Zurich, and Munich, is available for a limited time and represents a growing market where human activity recordings are used to train AI systems.
