Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron Sued in US over Memory Price Fixing

Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron have been sued by U.S. consumers and small businesses in California federal court for allegedly colluding to fix memory chip prices from 2022 onward, driving prices up approximately 700% over four years. The plaintiffs claim the companies reduced D-RAM supply under the pretext of transitioning to high-bandwidth memory, with the lawsuit potentially expanding into a class action that could result in triple damages if successful. Samsung and SK Hynix face added scrutiny due to prior convictions for price fixing in the early 2000s, though industry analysts expect the lawsuit to have minimal impact on memory prices through the end of the year.
