Quest for the Eternal Dock – Lambdock

Lambdock is a modern Wayland-native desktop dock application built in C and Guile Scheme with GTK4, designed to combine the functionality of classic docks like Cairo-Dock with full runtime hackability and customization through an embedded Lisp interpreter. The creator developed lambdock after years of prototyping, settling on an architecture inspired by Emacs that pairs a performant C core with a GNU Guile Scheme engine to enable deep customization and extensibility. The application aims to offer superior features including fluid physics animations, instant responsiveness, and freedom as in free software while rivaling macOS docks and other heavyweight applications.
