PM Carney announces largest clean energy investment in North American history
Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a historic $70 billion clean energy investment—the largest in North American history—involving upgrades to Churchill Falls, development of the Gull Island hydroelectric project, and a new Labrador wind project. The combined projects will generate 14,000 megawatts of clean power, support 23,000 jobs, and contribute $31 billion to Canada's GDP through the early 2040s, while positioning Canada as a supplier of critical minerals and clean energy for the world.
