Netherlands Seizes 800 Servers, Arrests 2 for Aiding Cyberattacks
Dutch authorities arrested two men on May 18 for operating internet hosting infrastructure used by Russia to conduct cyberattacks, disinformation campaigns, and election interference across the EU, seizing over 800 servers in the process. The arrests targeted Andrey Nesterenko and Youssef Zinad, who controlled companies providing critical internet connectivity to Stark Industries Solutions, a sanctioned Russian-linked hosting provider that became a major source of DDoS attacks and cyberattacks against European targets. The investigation revealed their networks were heavily used in pro-Russian attacks on Danish government systems during the country's November 2025 municipal elections.
