Mistral Large 4 (Le Chonk) is now Open Weight

Mistral has released the open-weight version of Mistral Large 4 (Le Chonk), a 1-trillion-parameter multimodal model that leads open-weight benchmarks in coding and cybersecurity tasks. The model, trained on European infrastructure, features improved reasoning efficiency and offers developers customizable, self-hosted deployment options for sovereign AI applications. Three weeks of additional reinforcement learning have enhanced its capabilities, with the model now ranking first on coding benchmarks like FrontierCode 2.0 while maintaining greater token efficiency than competitors.
