Meta's AI models are being deployed through the Genesis Mission, a White House initiative launched in late 2025 to accelerate scientific discovery using advanced AI. The project, called SYNAPS-I, addresses a critical bottleneck at Department of Energy research facilities like Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, where upgraded detectors now generate tens of petabytes of data annually—far exceeding scientists' manual analysis capacity.
