Gov.uk goes Dutch on payments as it dumps Stripe

The UK's Government Digital Service has replaced payment processor Stripe with Dutch provider Adyen for GOV.UK Pay services used by local authorities, police forces, and armed forces under a three-year contract worth up to £25.3 million. The switch will affect approximately 1,000 services and introduce new payment options including "pay by bank," which allows direct bank transfers without requiring card details, while maintaining no disruption for users. WorldPay will continue processing payments for central government and NHS bodies.
