Google Chrome's Next Update Will Mark the End of Popular Ad Blockers

Google is removing the final workaround that allowed legacy ad blockers based on Manifest V2 to function in Chrome, effectively ending support for popular extensions like the original uBlock Origin. The removal of the "kExtensionManifestV2Disabled" flag will take effect in Chrome 150, with additional Manifest V2 code being stripped in version 151. Other Chromium-based browsers like Microsoft Edge and Opera are expected to follow suit, though they technically have the option to continue supporting these older extensions.
