Fancy Curl Sites

The author created a curl-accessible version of their website for terminal viewing, inspired by similar projects from other creators, by leveraging ANSI escape codes for styling. While they hand-wrote some pages and used a custom static site generator that already supported multiple output formats, they were able to generate curl versions of their entire blog relatively easily due to having implemented ANSI markup support years earlier in their custom markup language, Gemroff.
