Electric shock gloves made by Compliant Technologies have already been in use by police departments in Omaha and Bellevue, Nebraska for years, despite recent headlines about Immigration and Customs Enforcement planning to adopt the technology. The Omaha Police Department purchased 40 pairs in 2025 for about $66,000 to be used by school resource officers as a non-lethal de-escalation tool, and has deployed them twice since training began. Bellevue Police has also used the gloves for approximately three and a half years, deploying them twice this year with no injuries reported.
