Communication on European Tech Sovereignty, and an EU Open-Source Strategy

The European Commission has unveiled the European Technological Sovereignty Package, a comprehensive strategy comprising four interconnected initiatives: Chips Act 2.0 for semiconductor resilience, the Cloud and AI Development Act to advance AI and cloud capabilities, an EU Open Source Strategy to reduce technology dependencies, and a Strategic Roadmap for Digitalisation and AI in Energy. This multi-faceted approach aims to strengthen Europe's technological independence across the entire value chain from semiconductors to software and artificial intelligence.
