Chrome is again exempting Google-owned sites from its user setting to automatically delete site data when closing all windows, six years after the same bug was previously reported and fixed. The author reproduced the issue on multiple Macs, finding that google.com data persists despite the deletion setting being enabled, while other sites' data is properly cleared. The author suggests this may be due to poor quality assurance rather than intentional misconduct, but notes Google has no excuse given its resources.
