Celebrating 45 Years of Kermit with the First New C-Kermit Release in 15 Years

C-Kermit, a file transfer protocol created in 1981 to enable communication between incompatible computer systems, has released its first major version in 15 years, marking 45 years since its inception. Originally developed by Columbia University and later open-sourced in 2011, C-Kermit has been used across diverse applications from space stations to aircraft manufacturing and continues to be valuable for transferring files between different operating systems. The new release includes improvements such as a command to easily view system IP addresses, addressing modern networking needs.
