BBEdit 16 has been released with over 100 new features and improvements, including significant performance enhancements, expanded Shortcuts support with App Intents, the ability to search for text within images using grep, color customization for projects and notebooks, and improved AI Chat Worksheets with faster response times. The update is free for BBEdit 15 customers who purchased on or after November 1, 2025, and costs $29.99-$39.99 for earlier version users. Additional improvements include W3C HTML5 syntax checking, vi keyboard emulation support, enhanced Git integration, and optimized SFTP file transfer performance.
