Asahi Linux now officially supports Apple M3 Macs, with most M3/M3 Pro/M3 Max devices functioning similarly to older M1 and M2 hardware, though the Mac Studio M3 Ultra is excluded. However, significant limitations remain, including poor GPU performance for 3D acceleration, lack of sleep support, and non-functional HDMI ports due to missing DCP support. The developers aim to improve GPU performance in the coming months while continuing to upstream M3 support to the mainline Linux kernel.
