Amazon Web Services is investing over a billion dollars to build a data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri, expected to create more than 400 permanent jobs and thousands of construction positions while supporting cloud computing and AI workloads. The company has negotiated utility rates to shield other ratepayers from costs and invested in carbon-free energy and water conservation measures, including rainwater harvesting and free-air cooling. The project is projected to generate hundreds of millions in tax revenue and includes over $7 million in community contributions for public safety, infrastructure, and STEM education programs.
