Airbus Full Scale Foldable Wing Extensions

Airbus is launching a three-year flight-test campaign to evaluate foldable wing extensions on an A321neo aircraft as part of its "Wing of Tomorrow" research programme. The full-scale extensions will be tested in real flight conditions to assess how longer, more efficient wing designs impact aircraft performance and fuel consumption. This initiative aims to develop next-generation single-aisle aircraft with longer, lighter wings that maximize aerodynamic efficiency.
