XWayland 26.1-rc1 Released Two Years After the Last Release

XWayland 26.1-rc1 was released after a two-year gap since the previous version, introducing significant updates including removal of EGLStream support, a clipboard/primary selection bridge for rootful mode, multi-seat support via Xi2, and improved RandR emulation with native mode preferences. The release candidate also adds support for the xdg-system-bell protocol and Wayland's wl_fixes protocol, with developers encouraged to test and report any issues.
