Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA

U.S.-based workers at the Wikimedia Foundation have voted overwhelmingly to form a union with Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 9415, marking a major milestone in the global Wiki Workers United campaign. The union victory came after management refused to recognize workers' union authorization cards signed by a supermajority, forcing workers to pursue an NLRB-overseen election. Over 2,000 Wikipedia volunteers and community members publicly supported the unionization effort, making it the most supported petition in English Wikipedia's history.
