The most persistent obstacle is Apple's objection to the app's name, citing a decades-old, officially "dead" Apple trademark from a 2002 handwriting-recognition feature, despite the same name being used by other apps in the App Store. The developer has appealed to Apple's review board and questions whether Apple is overextending its control over app distribution beyond legal trademark protections.
