Wealth Inequality in America drawn to scale

An interactive visualization illustrates America's extreme wealth inequality by drawing U.S. household wealth to scale, where one pixel represents $5,000 and requires minutes of scrolling to reach the top 1%. The median household wealth is equivalent to a 9-inch stack of $100 bills, while the average top 1% household's wealth reaches 145 feet and continues climbing dramatically higher for the wealthiest Americans.
