Vinix – A modern operating system written in V
Vinix is a lightweight operating system written in the V programming language that uses only 100 MB of RAM on boot and 1 GB of disk space after installation, featuring no garbage collector, systemd, or telemetry for improved speed and performance. The system boots to desktop in seconds, supports Apple Silicon Macs and x86_64 architecture, and includes optional per-app sandboxing similar to iOS for enhanced security. Currently in alpha development, Vinix is not intended for production use but can run existing applications through compatibility layers like Wine and Alpine Linux binaries.
