Vibecoding isn't as fun as writing code by hand

The author argues that while AI-assisted coding ("vibecoding") can quickly produce working prototypes and provide initial satisfaction, it lacks the deeper fulfillment that comes from manually writing code—such as the satisfaction of hard-won accomplishment, learning, and mastery. They contend that AI coding frontloads enjoyment but misses key sources of programming satisfaction, though they acknowledge AI can be useful for building projects that wouldn't otherwise be worth the time investment.
