Valve removed the free horror game "Beyond The Dark" from Steam after it was discovered to contain malware designed to steal personal data and cryptocurrency hidden in a file called UnityPlayer.dll. The malicious actor hijacked an existing Steam title originally called "Rodent Race" and transformed it by changing its name and assets, allowing the modified version to bypass Steam's verification processes. Users who downloaded the game should immediately delete it, run antivirus scans, change passwords, and check their cryptocurrency wallets for suspicious activity.
