A SpaceX Falcon 9 upper stage rocket (designated 2025-010D) will impact the moon on August 5, 2026, after orbiting Earth for over a year following its January 2025 launch. The impact poses no danger and is of minor scientific interest, though it exemplifies carelessness in disposing of space debris.
