UC Berkeley indefinitely suspends international student work authorizations

UC Berkeley's International Office has indefinitely suspended applications for Course Credit Curricular Practical Training (CPT), a work authorization program for international students, following new guidance from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement aimed at ensuring compliance with federal regulations. The office cited concerns about potential penalties, including loss of certification to enroll international students, if the university fails to comply with the updated requirements. Students will still be able to access "degree-requirement" CPT authorizations that are integral parts of their established curriculum.
