Uber shuts operations in Nigeria and Uganda with immediate effect

Uber has shut down its operations in Nigeria and Uganda effective immediately, citing a thorough business review as the reason for the "difficult decision." The move follows long-standing complaints from Nigerian drivers about low app prices and high commission charges, as well as increased competition from rival platforms like Bolt and inDrive. After this withdrawal and previous exits from Ivory Coast and Tanzania, Uber now operates in only four African countries: Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa.
