A court ruled that X Corp. has not abandoned the TWITTER trademark, finding that X's use of "formerly known as Twitter" in its Apple App Store listing constitutes valid trademark use, despite Elon Musk's public efforts to rebrand the platform as X. However, the TWEET mark and the bird logo apparently entered the public domain, though X retains control over the TWITTER mark for now. The ruling came in response to Project Bluebird's attempt to claim these abandoned trademarks for its own Twitter-alternative social media service.
