Triton: DirectX 11 Driver for QEMU

Researchers have developed Triton, a new Windows driver that brings full DirectX 11 support to QEMU virtual machines by implementing the DirectX Device Driver Interface (DDI) rather than the Direct3D API itself. This approach, combined with Neptune (a Direct3D protocol forwarding layer), enables modern graphics acceleration for Windows guests and allows games to run smoothly on virtualized Windows systems across different host operating systems, including macOS. Unlike previous attempts that required per-application DLL replacements, Triton works at the driver level, providing better performance, broader game compatibility, and improved user experience.
