The UK's War on Anonymity Has Come to America

An investigation reveals that five foreign NGOs, primarily British organizations, have coordinated a campaign to influence American lawmakers to adopt digital ID laws under the guise of "child safety," replicating a strategy they successfully used in the UK where such laws now enable surveillance and arrest of political dissidents. These organizations, including the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) and 5Rights Foundation, have lobbied for digital ID legislation in 21 states and Congress while often failing to properly register as foreign agents or disclose their foreign leadership and funding. The effort aims to eliminate internet anonymity in America through laws modeled on Britain's Age Appropriate Design Code, with 5Rights alone engaging on 42 bills across 18 states, 11 of which have already passed.
