The Nixpkgs core team has disbanded

The Nixpkgs core team has disbanded after concluding that the role was unsustainable and incompatible with active technical contribution, citing burnout and difficulty recruiting new members. During their 10-month tenure, the team achieved significant accomplishments including onboarding 19 new committers and establishing automation policies, but faced persistent challenges with the Steering Committee's micromanagement, poor communication, and lack of delegation as outlined in the project's constitution. The team believes these systemic governance issues must be addressed by future leadership to prevent similar problems.
