The Navier–Stokes Millennium Prize Problem

OpenAI used an unreleased AI model to solve the Navier–Stokes existence and smoothness problem, one of the seven unsolved Millennium Prize Problems worth $1 million each. However, the achievement is clouded by accusations from NYU mathematician Tristan Buckmaster, who claims OpenAI may have accessed work he and Anthropic researcher Levent Alpöge had been developing using Claude and other AI tools, and that OpenAI began their effort only after learning about their breakthrough through the mathematical community rumor mill.
