The Harness Is the Company

The author argues that all SaaS businesses will eventually become "harnesses"—infrastructure that wraps AI models with tools, interfaces, and state to enable productive work. As companies evolve, they'll progressively shift core tasks to background AI agents while humans move from executing work to orchestrating and reviewing agent outputs, fundamentally inverting the relationship between software development and organizational structure.
